persona: Cecilia García

Cecilia is 79, a devoted grandmother and in good spirits. her grandchildren call her amiably “Lola Cecilia”she is a woman who lived through the female revolution of the 50’s and learned to balance the lives of a hard working, independent career woman with the one of a loving and caring mother.



during the years she had to face many challenges, but she refused to be restricted by any kind of circumstances. Cecilia considers the long and often ruff path she went through to be a treasure and worth to be shared with succeeding generations.

building a connection between virtual and physical world will soon gain more ground in every living room. besides of its entertaining value, this connection also represents a big potential to improve living quality for people having special needs. this ixd jam creates a system specialized for elderly using their tv set in a different way.​

 

the following persona is the result of an ethnographical user research merging relevant insights for the identified target group.

the concept below took Cecilia's needs and requirements in consideration and built an experience of augmented reality around these specific needs.

Cecilia has a number of medical issues - arthritis and oesteoarthritis left her with limitations in motion of her hands and a stroke caused her to loose the ability to walk properly. also her memory is not as it used to be.

 

Cecilia needs help to remember the names of her sons and daughters, her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, where they stay, and what they are doing. She also would like to communicate with them in an efficient and easy way.
