restaurant urbanija

the restaurant project urbanija was mainly inspired by the existing structure of the premises. the client wished for plants as main keydriver of the interior design concept. the main idea how to integrate plants into the concept was inspired by vertical gardens. besides of their benefits, like filtering dust out of the air and refreshing it at the same time, vertical gardens, if nicely maintained, are also an eye-catcher in every interior.

due to the extraordinary height in the existing premises, it was possible to transform a vertical garden to a 'ceiling garden'.

customized flower boxes with integrated watering pipes are placed in about 3-m-height. the flower boxes are static and square, which provides an interesting contrast to the free growing nature of the plants.

the overall style of urbanija is simple and cosy - by using existing structures and materials. it is supposed to be a place to meet family and friends, but also have business lunches and celebration dinners.
